Reflection
My photo was taken at the Somerset Cooling towers near Wilbur school. I took the photo around 7 o'clock at night right as the sun was on its way down. The sun doesn't really fall on the towers at all, however you can see the night coming into the background and the sun faintly going down. The photo is a little over exposed, I tried to lighten the photo a little bit so it was easier to see the towers. The photograph is completely focused on the two massive towers. I believe that I did use the rule of thirds while take the picture as one tower is on one third, there is a space in between which counts as the second third and then the other tower counts for the last third. I took the picture a little bit elevated from the base of the towers. It looks straight on because the towers were just big enough where my being higher didn't have any affect on the picture. There is an electrical tower in the background from the old power plant which creates a sense of , and also the sky distracts away from the focal point of the image which are the towers. The photo was taken horizontally in order to fit both of the towers into the picture. I don't believe the subject matter is that compelling however I think the picture is really cool just because of the sky in the background. It's clear that the night sky is coming in. I think the sky is the most successful part of the photo of this photo however I don't think the photo emulation was that much of a success. I believe if I went back during the day and took the picture it would have looked a lot more like the photo John Davies took.
